It was the wind who told me of the marriage between The Sun and Moon.
It was the stars who spoke
Of the depth of the Earth and what lay hidden
Deep inside her crumpled belly.
It was the salty waters of the great ocean
Who told me of the secret love between the fire
And the splintered ice.
And as I walked amongst the eyes
Of an uncloaked forest,
There came to me in gnarled and wooded whispers,
A story of heartbreaking beauty,
A story of life and death
And the privilege that comes
With each cycle of breath.
It crushed me and kissed me.
